EMDR Works for More Than “Big Trauma”

What Is EMDR Good For?

Not just big scary events, it can help with everyday struggles too.

What Can EMDR Help With?

  • Thoughts that you're never good enough

  • Feeling like your opinions don't count

  • Perfectionism and people pleasing

Think of it this way: It's like clearing a clogged drain so emotions can flow freely instead of backing up.

Areas EMDR Could Help:

  • Decision-making anxiety

  • Perfectionist stress

  • Guilt about setting limits with people

  • Fear of letting others down

  • Self-trust issues

How Its EMDR Different?

  • You don't always have to talk through everything for months. EMDR often works faster than talk therapy to re-wire negative beliefs.

  • Some people notice shifts pretty quickly. You’re body does a lot of the to create beneficial habit and behavioral change.

Bottom Line: EMDR may help you work through beliefs that aren't helpful anymore. This could help you think more clearly and feel more confident about your choices.

What is Brainspotting?

Brainspotting is a therapeutic technique that helps individuals access and process deep-seated emotional and traumatic experiences. By guiding eye movements to specific "brainspots" related to distress, the therapy aims to unlock and release unresolved trauma stored in the brain. During a Brainspotting session, I help you explore and identify the precise areas in your visual field that connect with your emotional experiences. By focusing attention on these spots, you can access and process underlying emotions and memories more effectively.

What is EMDR?

EMDR stands for Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing. It is a form of therapy that helps those experiencing symptoms of emotional distress relating to life traumas. This highly researched intervention helps those who feel “stuck” in their trauma by creating distance from these events and minimizing symptoms. EMDR uses detailed protocols and guided eye movement to help remove mental blocks that limit us from healing. This powerful eight-part therapy can help activate natural healing and be adapted to your needs.
